Blancpain Villeret
More actions
The Blancpain Villeret is the collection that carries Blancpain's classical, non-diving identity, named for the Bernese Jura village where Jehan-Jacques Blancpain set up in 1735. Its codes were set by the complete-calendar moon phase Blancpain launched in 1983, at the depth of the quartz crisis: a double-stepped bezel, an understated dial and a moon rendered with a face. (Blancpain) The name covers a range rather than a watch, running from a plain three-hander to minute repeaters, tourbillons and perpetual calendars, so a Villeret is identified by its complication and reference; the tourbillon pictured is reference 6025. (Blancpain) What the executions share is the round stepped case, hand-finished in-house calibres, and calendar correctors set beneath the lugs so that no pushers interrupt the case flank. (Blancpain)
