The Breitling Emergency is a pilot's watch with a deployable radio-beacon antenna. Breitling launched the original model in 1995 on the 121.5 MHz civil-aviation distress frequency. (Breitling) Two British military pilots credited it with aiding their rescue after a 2003 helicopter crash in Antarctica, and civilian buyers signed a waiver accepting the cost of a false rescue activation. In 2013 Breitling replaced it with the pictured titanium Emergency II, which added a dual-frequency beacon monitored by the Cospas-Sarsat satellite network and a COSC-certified SuperQuartz movement.
