The Buler Grand Prix is a mechanical wristwatch from the Swiss maker Buler Watch Ltd. of the 1970s and 1980s, built in a black fibreglass case that reads as plastic, with a matching plastic strap, a black dial with a tachymeter scale and an orange centre seconds hand. The watch blog ZEIGR, whose 2013 article documents one example, relays its watchmaker's account that it was among the first plastic-cased watches in mass production and was sold through a mail-order house or a coffee roaster's shops rather than jewellers, a budget watch remembered fondly rather than a collector's piece. (ZEIGR) The maker's cases of the period are marked "Buler Watch Ltd, Swiss". (Wikimedia Commons)
