Madhouse's television anime adaptation of CLAMP's manga, directed by Morio Asaka. Fourth-grader Sakura Kinomoto accidentally scatters the magical Clow Cards after opening a mysterious book in her father's basement, and is bound by their guardian Cerberus (Kero-chan) to recapture them, transforming each into a Sakura Card of her own. The series premiered on NHK on April 7, 1998 and ran 70 episodes through March 21, 2000, later followed by the film Cardcaptor Sakura: The Movie and the 2018 sequel series Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card.
