The Casio G-Shock DW-8800BJ-1 is the 1996 Japan-market debut of the G-Shock "Codename" line, a spy-themed module-1444 digital built around a 100-slot contacts data bank, a Morse code translator with graphic and audio output, and a "Vital Statistics" memo mode for storing personal data, alongside the usual stopwatch and alarm. Its caseback is engraved with military ground-to-air distress signal codes. Casio's own G-Shock history page also dates the DW-8800 to 1996.
