The Casio W-86-1V is a basic resin digital from Casio's long-running low-cost sports range, sharing the sub-£20 bracket and general layout of the better-known F-91W. A rectangular LCD sits in a resin case on an integrated resin strap, with Mode and Start–Stop pushers driving time with seconds, day and date, a daily alarm, and a 1/100-second stopwatch. Its distinguishing feature is the on-demand electroluminescent "Illuminator" backlight, which washes the whole display in a teal glow rather than lighting a single bulb, and it carries a 50 m water-resistance rating. The W-86 has since been discontinued, though near-identical Casio budget digitals remain in the catalog at comparable prices. (Casio)
