File:The Ax (2005) - IWC Mark XV scene.jpg

Summary

Description: Production still from The Ax (Le Couperet, 2005). José Garcia, as Bruno Davert, sits at a family breakfast table with Karin Viard, as his wife Marlène, blurred in the background. His left wrist rests on the table edge, showing a round steel-cased watch on a black leather strap, worn under his suit cuff, consistent with the IWC Mark XV identified for this appearance. Source URL: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0422015/mediaviewer/rm487085056/ Source publisher: IMDb (photo gallery for The Ax (2005), tt0422015); IMDb's own caption reads "José Garcia and Karin Viard in The Ax (2005)". The identical photograph is also held by AlloCiné at much lower resolution and with AlloCiné's own watermark tiled over it; AlloCiné's copy carries EXIF crediting "Collection Christophel", the French film-stills agency, as the underlying rights holder, so this is a period press/production still, not a fan capture. Pulled directly from IMDb's own image CDN (m.media-amazon.com); the mediaviewer page itself blocks automated fetches, so the page-to-image mapping was confirmed via a 2025-06-27 Wayback Machine capture before pulling the bytes fresh from the live CDN URL (HTTP 200 at retrieval time), not from the archive. Retrieved: 2026-08-18 License or editorial purpose: Editorial use, non-commercial. A press/production still used to document a specific on-screen watch appearance in a film-watch catalog, matching this project's "reputable editorial outlet hosting a still unwatermarked" and "studio/press unit stills" source preferences. Modifications: None. Delivered as retrieved, full frame, no crop, no resize, no recompression. (A Lanczos-downscale/bicubic-upscale check against the original gave a mean absolute difference of about 0.018, well above the ~1/255 fake-upscale threshold, confirming the file carries genuine native detail rather than invented/upscaled detail.)
