The Garmin Instinct Tactical is the field-operations variant of Garmin's rugged Instinct, released in August 2019 at $349.99. It keeps the base watch's MIL-STD-810G construction, 100 metre water rating, fibre-reinforced polymer case and monochrome transflective display, then layers on features aimed at military and tactical users. A stealth mode stops the watch storing or sharing GPS positions and shuts down its wireless links; a night-vision mode dims the backlight to a level compatible with goggles; a Jumpmaster function computes release points for HAHO, HALO and static-line jumps; and dual-position formatting shows MGRS and latitude/longitude coordinates side by side. Satellite reception, sensors and the roughly 14-day battery match the standard Instinct: the difference is the tactical software, not the hardware. (Garmin)
