The Jardur Bezelmeter 960 is a 1940s American aviation chronograph from the Jardur Import Company, the New York firm founded in 1937 by pilot Samuel Klepper to supply flight calculators, plotters and other cockpit instruments. Cased in steel and powered by the hand-wound Valjoux 72 chronograph movement (the caliber behind many legendary pilot's watches), it pairs a rotating countdown bezel, set against the hour hand at take-off to track remaining flight time, with a red degreemeter scale on the dial graduated from 0 to 180 in 15-degree steps. Read against the sweep-seconds hand, that scale let a pilot measure a standard-rate turn more reliably than a compass swinging under inertia. (The Watch Spot, Craft + Tailored)
