La Grande Classique de Longines is the Swiss maison's ultra-thin dress family, launched in 1992 as a refinement of the earlier Agassiz line. It distils the dress watch to essentials: a slim round case, a clean dial, a fine bezel, and lugs that grip the strap from the sides. The collection spans sizes from about 24 to 37 mm for men and women, and its defining trait is thinness: the quartz versions stand only around 4.2 to 4.4 mm tall, achieved with slimline Longines calibres such as the L209 and L420 built on ETA bases.
