Parmigiani Fleurier introduced the Tonda 1950 in 2010 to mark founder Michel Parmigiani's sixtieth birthday, the name doubling as his birth year. The ultra-thin case, 7.8 mm on the original execution, is built around the manufacture's own Caliber PF701, whose off-centered micro-rotor cuts the movement to just 2.6 mm, one of the thinnest automatic calibers on the market. The line has since expanded across steel and precious-metal cases, dial colors, and complications including a moonphase and a flying tourbillon, all keeping the round four-lugged case that anchors the brand's design language.
