The Seiko A826 is a digital LCD quartz watch introduced in 1983 as part of Seiko's sport and training-timer range. Housed in a matte-black resin case roughly 38 mm across, it pairs an LCD readout with an unusual rotary selector ring that steps through its modes, driving a chronograph, countdown timer, alarm and backlight. As a training timer, some versions shipped with a corded finger trigger so a coach could start, stop and record stopwatch splits by thumb without looking at the wrist. Its angular, screen-forward styling gave it a distinctly futuristic look that has made it a sought-after cult digital long after production ended. (Digital-Watch.com)
