The Seiko Giugiaro 7A28-7000, designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro, debuted Seiko's 7A28, the world's first analog quartz chronograph movement: a 15-jewel, all-metal caliber with 1/20-second timing, a 30-minute counter, and split-time capability. Its asymmetric case became known as the "Ripley" after Sigourney Weaver wore it as Ellen Ripley in Aliens (1986). The Seiko Giugiaro SCED035 is Seiko's official modern reissue of this case.
