The Shinola The Black Blizzard is a Runwell Sport chronograph, reference S0110000118, in a 48 mm titanium case 13.7 mm thick with a brushed finish, a screw-down crown, a turning top ring and a double-domed sapphire crystal. An Argonite 5050.B quartz movement runs the chronograph and calendar, the dial carries printed Super-LumiNova, and the watch is rated to 20 ATM, selling at $1,550 with a bracelet, a black rubber strap and a serial-numbered caseback. Shinola names it for the Dust Bowl storms of the 1930s and sells it as a salute to American grit, a framing complicated in June 2016, when the Federal Trade Commission found that imported materials accounted for 100 percent of the cost of materials in certain Shinola watches.
