The Order

A thief travels to Jerusalem to find his archaeologist father, who has vanished while chasing an ancient manuscript, and uncovers a hidden religious order and a bomb plot beneath the Temple Mount. (IMDb) Sheldon Lettich directed the action film from a screenplay by star Jean-Claude Van Damme, who plays both present-day thief Rudy Cafmeyer and, in the film's medieval framing story, the twelfth-century knight Charles Le Vaillant; Charlton Heston co-stars as Professor Walter Finley. The film opened in Germany on 13 December 2001 and went direct-to-DVD in the United States in March 2002.
