The Timex Expedition Rugged Field T499099J is the analogue field watch of Timex's Expedition range, which Timex pitched as a rugged, water-resistant watch for use on the trail or in the office. Its brass case measures 43 mm across and 11.85 mm thick in a gunmetal finish, with 20 mm lugs, a mineral glass crystal and a green water-resistant leather strap on a buckle. The natural-coloured dial carries a full set of markers, driven by a quartz analogue movement with Timex's QuickDate setting, and the INDIGLO night-light lights the face from behind. Timex rated it water resistant to 50 metres, ran it on a CR2016 cell and listed it at $60: the brass-cased, budget end of the military-styled field watch. (Timex)
