Zenith Chronomaster Open
More actions
The Zenith Chronomaster Open is the chronograph line Zenith introduced in 2003 to put its own escapement on display, cutting the dial open over the balance wheel of the automatic El Primero caliber so the wearer can watch it beat at 36,000 vibrations per hour. (Zenith) The concept has run across materially different executions since, from the original Open XXT through the two-tone and steel 2012-generation Chronomaster El Primero 1969/Open, and this appearance's white dial is skeletonized further still, exposing the balance and a star-shaped bridge rather than only the escapement window of the earlier references. No single reference covers the line's screen record. Kim Soo-hyun wears one as casino boss Jang Tae-yeong in the South Korean neo-noir thriller Real.
