The Bulova Accutron Astronaut belongs to Bulova's Accutron line, introduced in 1960 as the second electronic watch ever made, keeping time with a 360 Hz tuning fork instead of a balance wheel. Guaranteed accurate to within a minute a month, the Accutron sold over four million units by 1973 and flew as astronaut David Scott's backup timepiece on Apollo 15 after his Omega failed, the only privately owned watch worn on the lunar surface.
