Cartier Pasha

The Cartier Pasha arrived in 1985, designed by Gérald Genta under Cartier chief executive Alain-Dominique Perrin as a large, deliberately masculine sports watch to sit alongside the maison's ovals and rectangles. The first version was a 38 mm round case with a broad bezel and Vendôme lugs, a square minute chapter ring laid over a circular dial with numerals at 12, 3, 6 and 9, and a screw-down crown hidden under a cabochon-set cap tethered by a fine chain. The family widened quickly into chronographs, GMTs, moon phases and perpetual calendars, then into steel from 1990 and a spread of sizes from 32 to 42 mm; specifications therefore vary sharply by reference.
