The Casio G-Shock G-056 and its G-056B sister series, both released in 2006 on module 3028, put G-Shock's shock protection into one of the slimmest cases the brand has ever made: 11.0 mm thick and 49.8 × 42.4 mm across, wrapping an octagonal aluminum-trimmed dial frame that earned the series its "Polygon" nickname among collectors. Function follows the compact brief: 200-meter water resistance, world time across 29 zones and 48 cities, stopwatch, interval timers, and an auto-activating electro-luminescent backlight. The run was short: the series left the catalog quickly and turns up rarely on the secondary market (Casio Watch Archive, Shockbase).
