Casio G-Shock G-2900F-1V
More actions
The Casio G-Shock G-2900F-1V is a black resin G-Shock from November 2002 built on module 2548, and its distinguishing function is a Data Bank idea aimed squarely at the web: e-DATA MEMORY, which Casio described as storage for "URLs and e-mail addresses." Capacity is quoted as up to 40 records at seven characters each and falls as the entries get longer, since the records share one pool, and the whole store can be put behind a password. It is the same impulse that produced the Telememo watches a decade earlier, redirected from phone numbers to internet addresses at exactly the moment a wrist was still a plausible place to keep them. The other half of the pitch was endurance, a CR2025 rated for ten years. (Casio, 2011; Casio Operation Guide 2548/2821)
