The Casio G-Shock G2310R-1 is a 2001 Tough Solar model built around the compact 2300-series case, distinguished by a round metal inner bezel set inside the resin shell. Its module 3192 recharges from light and adds World Time and a full-auto EL backlight, but, unlike the visually similar GW-2310 that followed in 2009, it has no Multi-Band 6 radio synchronisation, which keeps it an affordable set-and-forget tool watch rather than an atomic one. (G-Central) The distinction matters for dating a screen appearance: a 2005 film can show a G-2310 but not the later radio-controlled GW-2310.
