The Girard-Perregaux Vintage 1945 is the Swiss manufacture's rectangular Art Deco line, launched in 1995 as a tribute to a curved rectangular watch the house first built in 1945. Its signature is the case: solid yet supple, it curves from top to bottom and side to side to follow the wrist, the sapphire crystal echoing the same double curvature so light plays across the flanks in a way flat construction cannot. The dial carries Arabic numerals in a period cursive font, Dauphine hands and a railway-style minute track. Driven by automatic movements and offered over the years in stainless steel, titanium and 18k pink gold, the line has since grown to include large-date and moon-phase complications while keeping its interwar silhouette.
