The Hamilton Lloyd Chrono takes its name and squared, cornice-cornered case from architect Frank Lloyd Wright, whom Hamilton honored with the original Lloyd design in 1955. The brand revived the shape decades later as the American Classic Lloyd Chrono Quartz, a three-register chronograph sold in several finishes before its discontinuation. Hamilton's historical placement record credits a black-dial Lloyd Chrono to Vanilla Sky, establishing availability by 2001, and a white-dial execution to Fantastic Four without naming either reference.
