The Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Grande Taille is the larger men's size of the Reverso, the rectangular watch whose case slides within its carrier and pivots a full 180 degrees so the crystal turns face-down. The idea came from a challenge issued by British officers at a polo match in India, carried back to Jacques-David LeCoultre by César de Trey; designer René-Alfred Chauvot patented the reversing case on 4 March 1931, and casemaker Wenger gave it its streamlined Art Deco form. Grande Taille references such as 270.8.62 pair a steel case roughly 26 by 42 mm, with the model's signature reeded ends, with a hand-wound calibre and blued hands on a silvered dial, though the Reverso family spans many sizes, dials and movements.
