The Lancet trench watch is the gold heirloom at the centre of Captain Koons's monologue in Pulp Fiction (1994). A trench watch is an early-20th-century wristwatch (a small round case, wire lugs and a clear dial) so soldiers could read the time without digging out a pocket watch; Lancet was a marque under which such watches were sold, and surviving examples are inexpensive vintage pieces rather than rarities. Koons delivers it to a young Butch Coolidge, tracing its passage through three generations and two wars. It is a small gold wristwatch on an expansion bracelet, not a pocket watch. The Lancet attribution comes from prop research rather than any on-screen marking; prop-department recollections put the prop, with a Speidel band, at under fifty dollars.
