Little Twin Stars (Kiki and Lala) are twin Sanrio characters created in 1975 for a Christmas promotion, born on a star called Kiki Lala Land and celebrating their birthday on Christmas Eve. Like many Sanrio characters of the era, they began as merchandise designs rather than characters from a book, film, or television work, later appearing across decades of goods and short animations without a single flagship series carrying their name.
