Omega Seamaster De Ville

The Omega Seamaster De Ville is the dress branch Omega grew from the Seamaster in the early 1960s, keeping the line's water-resistant monocoque case — sealed from the front, with no screw-back — but dropping the diver's proportions for a slim, clean-dialled watch made for a suit rather than the sea. It was a transitional name: the De Ville began as a designation on a Seamaster and proved popular enough that in 1967 Omega split it off as its own collection, leaving the Seamaster to the tool watches. That makes a Seamaster De Ville a marker of the mid-1960s specifically, before the two names parted, and the gold 34 mm examples that reach the screen carry exactly that vintage register. (Omega)
