Pompompurin (series)

Pompompurin is a Sanrio character created in 1996, the winning entry in an in-house Sanrio design contest: a golden retriever puppy known for his brown beret and love of pudding. Rather than originating in a book, film, or television work, he was conceived as a merchandise character from the start, later appearing in short Sanrio animations and specials without a single flagship series carrying his name.
