The Services Despatch Rider is a British military-style watch made by the Services Watch Co. of Leicester, England, a firm whose products ran from the 1920s into the mid-twentieth century. Named for motorcycle despatch riders, it is a classic interwar trench-style watch: a small chromed base-metal case, wire lugs and a legible dial, offered over the years with both conventional 12-hour and 24-hour layouts. Like most of the company's output it was assembled from bought-in parts around an inexpensive un-jewelled pin-lever movement rather than a jewelled one, keeping it cheap.
