The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare (2024)

From IMWDb
The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare

Guy Ritchie's 2024 war picture, adapted from Damien Lewis's Churchill's Secret Warriors, in which the British military recruits a small group of highly skilled soldiers to strike against German forces behind enemy lines during World War II. The story is a heavily fictionalised account of Operation Postmaster, the Special Operations Executive raid of January 1942 that seized an Italian supply ship and two tugboats from the harbour of Spanish-held Fernando Po off West Africa. Henry Cavill leads the unit as Gus March-Phillipps, with Alan Ritchson as the Danish commando Anders Lassen. (IMDb, Wikipedia)

Antique Field Watch
Worn by Henry Cavill as Gus March-Phillipps. March-Phillipps wears a small antique field watch on a green nylon strap through the raid sequences, a period-correct choice for a 1942 commando. Watch ID reports costume-department information pointing to a vintage Jaeger-LeCoultre from the WWII "Dirty Dozen" service issue, but the frames never resolve the dial or caseback clearly enough to confirm a reference on screen. Services Despatch Rider
Worn by Alan Ritchson as Anders Lassen. Alan Ritchson's Anders Lassen wears an antique Services Despatch Rider, a dual-register dress-military piece carrying a 24-hour Arabic chapter alongside a 12-hour Roman one plus a small seconds subdial. The Services name was applied to watches built in Germany by the Thiel brothers of Thuringia in the 1920s and 1930s, which places the prop a decade or two ahead of the film's 1942 setting. (Watch ID)
