The Suunto Core Alu Deep Black is the blacked-out aluminium version of the Core, the Finnish maker's altimeter, barometer and compass watch for general outdoor use. Its 49.1 mm aluminium case and bezel sit behind a mineral crystal, trading the steel model's sapphire for less weight on the wrist, and the watch carries 30 m water resistance and a user-replaceable CR2032 cell rated at about twelve months. The barometric altimeter covers -500 to 9000 m at 1 m resolution, and a storm alarm warns of a sudden pressure drop; sunrise and sunset times, a seven-day weather memory, dual time and a 10 m depth meter for snorkelling fill out a matrix display lit by an electroluminescent backlight.
