The TAG Heuer Grand Carrera is the upmarket mechanical line TAG Heuer launched in June 2007, drawing its look from contemporary GT cars and aimed at buyers sitting above the brand's mainstream ranges. Its signature is the Rotating System, abbreviated RS: in place of conventional sub-dials, engraved discs turn beneath a fixed reading point so that small seconds, a second time zone or elapsed chronograph time can be taken in at a glance, the way an instrument drum is read on a dashboard. The line was mechanical throughout, built on automatic calibres carrying RS designations such as 17 RS and 36 RS. In 2008 the Calibre 36 RS Caliper Chronograph won the sports category at the Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève. (Europa Star, La Cote des Montres)
