The Timex Expedition T49831 is one reference within Expedition, Timex's long-running outdoor collection, and is sold today as the Expedition Rugged Core analog. A 43 mm matte black resin case 12.5 mm thick and weighing 46 g holds a quartz analog movement behind an acrylic crystal, on a moulded 20 mm resin strap, water resistant to 50 m and powered by a CR2016 cell. The black dial carries partial Arabic numerals and is lit by Indiglo, the electroluminescent night-light Timex developed in the early 1990s, which illuminates the whole dial at the push of a button instead of relying on painted lume. Resin throughout and inexpensive to replace, it is a field watch built to be worn hard rather than looked after. (Timex)
