An investigation into an emergency landing exposes airline pilot Whip Whitaker’s intoxication in the cockpit. (IMDb) Directed by Robert Zemeckis from a screenplay by John Gatins, the drama premiered at the New York Film Festival on 14 October 2012 and was released by Paramount Pictures on 2 November. Denzel Washington plays Whitaker, with Don Cheadle as his lawyer Hugh Lang, Kelly Reilly as Nicole, Bruce Greenwood as union representative Charlie Anderson and John Goodman as Harling Mays; it drew Academy Award nominations for Washington and for Gatins's original screenplay.
