Vacheron Constantin Historiques American 1921
More actions
The Vacheron Constantin Historiques American 1921 revives a pair of 1919 and 1921 Vacheron Constantin driver's watches whose case is rotated on the wrist, angling the crown toward the centre so a driver could read the time without lifting a hand from the wheel. The brand relaunched the design in 2008 in a 40 mm case, added a smaller 36.5 mm size in 2017, and continues to update the line in new metals and dial colours, most recently at Watches & Wonders 2026; the manual-wind Caliber 4400 and the case both carry the Poinçon de Genève. Vacheron Constantin's own press material for the film's Cannes premiere states that Josh Brolin's Bretton James "wears the exceptional 'American 1921' timepiece from the brand's collection, Les Historiques," in Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps (2010), without naming a reference; the reference 82035 sometimes cited for the placement online does not appear in that press text.
