The 71st Venice International Film Festival ran from 27 August to 6 September 2014, opening with Alejandro G. Iñárritu's Birdman and closing with the Golden Lion going to Roy Andersson's A Pigeon Sat on a Branch Reflecting on Existence. Composer Alexandre Desplat presided over the main competition jury, and James Franco took the Jaeger-LeCoultre Glory to the Filmmaker award. - Jaeger-LeCoultre Deep Sea Vintage Chronograph
- Worn by Al Pacino as Himself. Pacino wore the Deep Sea Vintage Chronograph at the festival press conference for his two films in the programme, The Humbling and Manglehorn, a daytime press appearance rather than one of the festival's black-tie premieres, and the only Venice outing that ties this reference to him.
