Chadwick Boseman was an American actor and playwright who studied directing at Howard University and began in theatre. After a regular role on the NBC drama Persons Unknown, he broke through portraying historical figures, playing Jackie Robinson in 42 and James Brown in Get on Up, and received an Emmy, a Golden Globe, and an Academy Award nomination.
