Fionnula Flanagan (born 1941) is an Irish actress trained at Dublin's Abbey Theatre, Tony-nominated for Ulysses in Nighttown and The Ferryman and known on film for James Joyce's Women, Some Mother's Son, Waking Ned and The Others. On ABC's Lost she recurs as Eloise Hawking, the physicist's mother who guides the survivors back to the island. (Wikipedia)
