Michael Keaton (born 5 September 1951) is an American actor from Coraopolis, Pennsylvania, who broke out in Tim Burton's Beetlejuice (1988) before Burton cast him as the title role in Batman (1989) and its sequel Batman Returns (1992), a casting choice widely doubted at the time and just as widely vindicated by the films' success. (Wikipedia) He later earned Academy Award nominations for Birdman (2014) and Spotlight (2015), and returned to the role of Bruce Wayne decades later in The Flash (2023).
