Morrissey (born Steven Patrick Morrissey, 1959) is an English singer and lyricist who fronted the Smiths from 1982 to 1987, a band whose jangling guitar sound and Morrissey's mordant, literate lyrics made them one of the most influential acts to emerge from the British indie scene. (Wikipedia) His solo career, running since 1988 across albums including Vauxhall and I and Your Arsenal, continued with the 2009 B-sides compilation Swords.
