Patrick Chesnais (born March 18, 1947, in La Garenne-Colombes) is a French actor, director, and screenwriter trained at the Conservatoire National d'Art Dramatique, who spent roughly a decade in theater before his 1976 film debut in Jacques Rozier's Les Naufragés de l'île de la Tortue. He won the César Award for Best Supporting Actor for La Lectrice (1988) and appears alongside Gérard Lanvin and Annie Girardot in Claude Lelouch's ensemble drama There Were Days... and Moons (1990).
