Regina King (born 1971, Los Angeles) is an American actress and director who began as a teenager on the sitcom 227 before roles in Boyz n the Hood and Jerry Maguire built a decades-long career. She played Erika Murphy on HBO's The Leftovers and won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for If Beale Street Could Talk (2018), adding four Primetime Emmy Awards across her television work.
