Bari Bari Densetsu (バリバリ伝説) is Studio Pierrot's anime adaptation of Shuichi Shigeno's motorcycle-racing manga, serialized in Weekly Shōnen Magazine from 1983 to 1991. High schooler Gun Koma leaves illegal mountain-pass racing on his Honda CB750F for the professional circuit, teaming with his longtime rival Hideyoshi Hijiri, who rides a Suzuki GSX750S Katana, through the Suzuka 4-Hour endurance race and on toward international competition. The story was released as two OVA parts in 1986, "Tsukuba" and "Suzuka," before Toho re-edited them into this theatrical compilation, which opened in Japan on August 1, 1987.
