An A-1 Pictures television anime adapting Yoko Taro's 2017 action role-playing game NieR: Automata, following android combat units 2B, 9S and A2 in a war against machine lifeforms on a post-apocalyptic Earth abandoned by humanity. (IMDb) The series aired its first cours from January to July 2023 and a second cours from July to September 2024, co-written by director Ryōji Masuyama and the game's original writer Yoko Taro.
