Shaft's third Puella Magi Madoka Magica film, an all-new story rather than a recap of the 2011 television series, released in Japan on October 26, 2013, and in North America by Aniplex of America under the title Puella Magi Madoka Magica the Movie Part III: The Rebellion Story. Homura Akemi engineers a fabricated world to keep her friend Madoka close, only to become the reality-warping witch-devil Homulilly and, after Madoka intervenes, the god-defying Devil Homura who rewrites the Law of Cycles itself; Madoka's own ascended, goddess-like form, Ultimate Madoka, appears within Homura's manipulated memory of the events that ended the series.
