Resident Evil: Death Island (2023)

Resident Evil: Death Island is the fourth feature in Capcom's CG-animated Resident Evil series, directed by Eiichiro Hasumi with animation by Quebico for TMS Entertainment. Leon S. Seiko Astron SSH131: Unusually, the watch on screen and the watch sold are the same design: Seiko states that Leon and Chris appear in the film wearing actual Astron models created for it, so this is both an official partnership and an in-work appearance. Leon's is the all-black titanium SSH131, its grey dial matched to the denim and leather he wears, on a black calf strap, with city codes engraved around the side of the bezel. Six hundred were made, three hundred of them in Japan as the SBXC131. Because the film is animated, what appears on screen is a computer model built to the design rather than a physical prop. Matthew Mercer voices Leon in the original English track; Toshiyuki Morikawa took the role for the Japanese dub recorded later. (Seiko)

Seiko Astron SSH129: Chris takes the SSH129 from the same collaboration, a titanium case on an all-metal short-link bracelet that Seiko describes as staying comfortable while a weapon is being handled, its greyish-green dial textured like asphalt to match his uniform. Six hundred were made, three hundred in Japan as the SBXC129, and both models run the GPS solar calibre 5X53 with a blue-glowing LumiBrite the standard Astrons do not have. Kevin Dorman voices Chris in English; the Japanese dub uses Hiroki Tochi rather than Rikiya Koyama, who plays him through much of the game series. (Seiko)
