Space Battleship Yamato 2199 (宇宙戦艦ヤマト2199), released in the West as Star Blazers 2199, is a 26-episode remake of the 1974 anime Space Battleship Yamato created by Yoshinobu Nishizaki and Leiji Matsumoto, screened in Japanese theaters a few episodes at a time from April 7, 2012 ahead of home video and then broadcast on MBS and TBS from April 7 to September 29, 2013. In the year 2199 the battleship Yamato, hull number BBY-01, leaves an irradiated Earth for the planet Iscandar under Captain Juzo Okita, with Susumu Kodai and Yuki Mori among the crew whose uniforms carry the ship's anchor emblem and the air corps' falcon.
