The Ghost in the Shell (攻殻機動隊 THE GHOST IN THE SHELL) is Science SARU's 2026 television anime adaptation of Masamune Shirow's cyberpunk manga, the franchise's first television outing without Production I.G in three decades. Set in 2029, it follows cyborg operative Motoko Kusanagi (voiced by Maaya Sakamoto) as she joins Section 9 chief Daisuke Aramaki's new Public Security unit alongside Batou (Hiroki Yasumoto) and Togusa (Yuuichi Nakamura) to hunt a hacker known as the Puppet Master.
