Berserk (1989)

Kentaro Miura's dark fantasy manga, serialized in Hakusensha's Monthly Animal House from August 25, 1989, and continuing in Young Animal from 1992; following Miura's death in 2021, the series resumed in 2022 under Studio Gaga, his former assistants working from his notes. The story follows the mercenary swordsman Guts, wielder of the massive Dragon Slayer, as he hunts Griffith, the Band of the Hawk's charismatic leader who sacrificed his comrades to become the demon Femto, while the enigmatic Skull Knight moves against the God Hand from the shadows.
